Climate science

Thanks to extensive international research over the last 50-60 years, we now know quite a lot about climate change and the main causes behind global warming. In these pages, I try to summarise this research in a form which I hope will be easy to understand for most people. At the same time, I am trying to include references to the sources I have used.

That the global temperature has risen alarmingly in a short time is shown in Global temperature change. There is widespread agreement that the main reason for this is the greenhouse effect. Some believe that solar activity plays a role, but this seems unlikely. See Irradiance from the Sun. Greenhouse gas emissions, mainly Carbon dioxide and Methane are showing an increasing trend. Climate models are an important tool in climate change research. The effects of climate change are described in Impacts of Global Warming. I have also included some Databases showing recent trends in climate change and effects of climate change.
